In addition to her Sisters in community, she is survived by several cousins, grandnieces and their families. She will be waked from 2:30 4:30 with a prayer service at 3:30. She graduated from St Jerome High School, Holyoke. She served as secretary in various diocesan agencies including Catholic Charities, St. Michael Cemetery Services and Open Window Bookstore. She will be waked from 9:30 to 10:30 am with a prayer service at 10:00 am. She graduated from St. Joseph High School, North Adams and earned a B.A. Born in St. Albans, VT she was the daughter of William and Frances (Frost) Blackburn. She is predeceased by her two brothers, Reid and David. She was also pastoral minister at St. Mary Parish, Thorndike, Mass. She was also the recipient of several awards: Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless Carol McGovern, RSM Memorial Award, 1998; the Goff Womens Achievement Award, 2003; Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rhode Island Public Health Association, 2008; The Providence Newspaper Guilds John Kiffney Public Service Award, 2010; YWCA Rhode Island Women of Achievement Award, 2013; and the Ignatian Volunteer Corps Della Strada Award, 2014. Schneider noted, in her article, that her community transformed its "own infirmary to a licensed, skilled-nursing facility," accessed MassHealth services for the retired sisters and established a retirement account that, to date, has only about one-quarter in funds in terms of the meeting the congregation's needs.
